- save the files we have sent to you via e-mail
(ie - click on the Paperclip top left of the message window and choose
"Save Attachments . . . ." )
- to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
UPDATE: in Vista's Windows Mail Stationery Files are stored - in: ...
\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Stationery
NOTE: "AppData" may be hidden (You may need to change permissions to see it)
- to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery
- to test that you have the files all in the right place do this next :
- click on the
down arrow next to the "New Message" button
- you will see this
- Click on "Select Stationery..."
- select your new Stationery file " 01AVIP.........htm " from all the options
- it should be right at the top as it is " 01AVIP....." - Click " OK "
- a new message window should open with your new Stationery ready to address and work with :-)
send it to somebody NOW !!
as we do not want it around for the next step !
- click on the
- Now the next step is to set this file as your "Default" e-mail Stationery
Follow these steps to achieve that:- You have opened Outlook Express
- Click on " Tools"
- Click on " Options..."
- Select the " Compose " Tab at the top
- Tick the " Mail: " tickbox
- Click on the " Select ... " button
- Choose your new e-mail Stationery - same name as above :-)
- Click " OK " and Bob's your Uncle
button you will have your Default Stationery showing :-)
- in the "Options" panel above
- click on the "Send" tab
- click on "HTML Settings . . "
- make sure there is a "TICK" in front of "Send pictures with messages"
- when done - click on "OK"
- back at the "Options" window - click on "Apply" and/or "OK" to access this window
